1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using CalRay (the "App") or visiting calray.app (the "Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use CalRay.

2. Description of service

CalRay is an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracking application. The App uses image recognition to estimate food items and their nutritional content from photos. Nutrition estimates are approximations and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice.

3. User accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use CalRay to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the App or Website in an automated manner.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Health disclaimer

CalRay provides nutrition information for informational purposes only. The App is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet.

AI-generated nutrition estimates may not be accurate for all foods, preparation methods, or portion sizes. Use your own judgment when relying on these estimates.

6. Intellectual property

All content, trademarks, and software in CalRay are owned by or licensed to CalRay Inc. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (food photos, logs). By submitting content, you grant CalRay a limited, non-exclusive license to use it to provide and improve the service.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalRay is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or Website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification with at least 7 days' notice. Continued use of CalRay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Zurich, Switzerland.
